TITLE: 5250 File Transfer Options for French & German
DOCUMENT #: TB.S.3-141
DATE: June 7, 1991
PRODUCT: 5250 File Transfer
PRODUCT VERSION: 1.38
SUPERSEDES: NA
SYMPTOM: Files not transferring
ISSUE/PROBLEM
Version 1.38 includes the ability (and when using certain non-English
languages, the necessity) to specify additional parameters. This should be
explained on page 7-3 of the "File Transfer Guide" but is not.
SOLUTION:
In addition to the "s" specified in the "Guide" two additional parameters
are available:
For FRENCH the specification is
SSN [S,F,1]
For GERMAN the specification is
SSN [S,G,1]
The "F" specifies French, "G" specifies German and the "1" specifies that
the a ASCII to EBCDIC translation table supplied with the software be used
instead of the built in ASCII to EBCDIC translation table. "0" would
specify that the built in table be used.
These options can also be set through the environment variable DLSSN by
means of a SET command, in which case no parameters need to be added to the
command line when executing NVLFTI.
In either case it is important to remember that commas must be used in
place of the parameters that will remain unchanged.
